Acceptable use

Personal travel data. Not a phone company. The host network can suspend a line that breaks these rules.

Updated 5 October 2026

Allowed

Maps, messages, browser, hotspot when the country page says hotspot is allowed. Keep the home SIM for calls and SMS.

Not allowed

  • Reselling the eSIM or the data.
  • Using the line for anything illegal, or to attack a network.
  • Spam, bulk scraping, or other use that the host flags as abuse.
  • Putting the eSIM in a router, MiFi, dongle or IoT device. It is for phones and tablets; sharing your phone’s hotspot is fine.
  • Using it as a permanent home or office line instead of a local plan. It is for travel.

The networks can suspend or end a line used this way without notice, and there is no refund then. That comes from the network operators’ terms, which we pass on.

Full contract: Terms. Airalo publishes a separate acceptable-use policy next to its legal center. This page is that counterpart.
