Which to pick
Keep Verizon if
- You are away a day or two, or your plan already includes roaming.
- You will make many calls on your own number and want them on the same bill.
- Your phone is locked to your carrier (an eSIM needs an unlocked phone).
Use a travel eSIM if
- You are away for most of a week or longer.
- You want one price you know before you fly.
- You want your number to keep working while data runs on the eSIM.

Questions
How much does Verizon TravelPass cost for 10 days?
Verizon TravelPass: $120.00 ($12 a day, 5 gb high speed, then 3g speed; a 24-hour session, charged only on days you use the phone). A 10-day trip to Japan with normal use costs $9.90 with Inbox eSIM (10 GB, 30 days).
Can I keep my phone number with a travel eSIM?
Yes. The eSIM carries data only and sits beside your main SIM: calls and texts to your number still reach you on the main line, while data goes through the eSIM. Turn off data roaming on your main line so it does not charge a day pass by mistake.
When is Verizon the better choice?
For a day or two, when your plan already includes roaming, or when you need many calls on your own number. From about 2 days of data use, a travel eSIM usually costs less.
Do I need a new phone for an eSIM?
Most phones from 2019 on support eSIM; it must be unlocked by your carrier. Check yours on our compatibility page before you buy.
