Check these in order
- Is the line on? iPhone: Settings > Cellular, then the travel line, Turn On This Line. Android: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.
- Is data roaming on for that line? A travel eSIM is roaming by design, so it needs this on, whatever you do with your home line.
- Is it the line for data? iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data. Android: the SIM preferences in the same menu.
- Turn airplane mode on, wait ten seconds, and turn it off so the phone looks for a network again.
- Are you where the plan works? A pack covers the places named on its page, and the signal can be weaker away from cities.
If it still has no data
- Check the phone is not carrier locked. On iPhone, Settings > General > About must say No SIM Restrictions next to Carrier Lock.
- Check the phone's bands work in that country, which Apple names as a cause of activation problems.
