eSIM for Umrah and Hajj in Saudi Arabia

Install a Saudi Arabia eSIM before you fly and it connects when you land in Jeddah or Madinah, so Nusuk, maps and calls home work from the airport.

Updated 25 October 2026

Why data matters on this trip

Umrah permits are taken in the Nusuk app, Saudi Arabia's official platform for Hajj and Umrah. For the 2026 to 2027 season, Saudi Arabia said Umrah visas would be issued from 31 May 2026 and that pilgrims could obtain Umrah permits through Nusuk from 1 June 2026, with 23 March 2027 the last day to enter the Kingdom and 7 April 2027 the last day to leave. Having data on your own phone means the app, your bookings and maps work without hunting for Wi-Fi.

Which pack

  • Saudi Arabia: one country, the usual choice for Umrah or Hajj.
  • The Gulf pack: Saudi Arabia plus the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Iraq on one QR, for a stopover in Dubai or Doha on the way.

How much data

  • A two-week Umrah trip with maps, messages and daily video calls home: about 10 GB.
  • Messages and the Nusuk app only: 3 to 5 GB.
  • Sharing with family on one phone's hotspot: size up, or buy one eSIM per phone in one payment.

Install on Wi-Fi at home and keep the eSIM line off until you land; the data days start when it first connects in Saudi Arabia.
